Josef Newgarden Wins Season Opener
Josef Newgarden started the 2023 NTT INDYCAR season with a victory at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, held on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, on March 5th. Newgarden, who also won the pole position, led a Team Penske 1-2 finish, with Scott McLaughlin finishing second.

The race featured multiple lead changes and several incidents.Reigning series champion Will Power retired early due to mechanical problems, while Romain Grosjean and Rinus VeeKay crashed out on the opening lap. Despite the retirements, the race remained competitive throughout and provided plenty of excitement for fans.
